STOP!
Before you take out your braids out of boredom, let us Inspire you to
keep them on. I’ve been moving about more often lately and I have been
seeing a lot of inspiring braided hairstyles. From wrapping to
braiding, Nigerian girls, I have to say can be quite innovative with the
style. As tempted as I was to take a shot of their unique styles, I
couldn’t but I’ve brought you the next best thing.
Quick side note before I go on, you
should know that braids are called different names. They are called
loose braids, Poetic Justice braids or Single braids. Box braids are
called so because of the pattern they form when parting your natural
hair i.e square patterns. Any other pattern would probably be the poetic
justice braids (which are usually jumbo sized) or your usual loose
braids that vary in size and pattern. Okay..moving on.
Don’t know how to style yours? Well here
are 10 unique ways to style your braids and keep it looking different
and fresh. For all the natural sistas out there, braiding your hair can be a great way to protect your hair while transitioning or otherwise. Now lets get started;

2. The Fishtail Side Bang
3. The Braided MoHawk
This hairstyle is a little like the other one but with a normal braid. You can be creative with it; like weave to the side instead of the centre or do twists instead of a braid…to add your own personal touch to it. Watch this Youtube video from Tiarra Monet figure out how its done.
4. The Twisted Lady Style
Now this hairstyle had me dancing and thinking of a mash up between Brandy and Erikah Badu. It has this vintage feel to it that makes it stand out. And it isn’t that hard to do. (Okay, and you can dance too).
5. The Twisted Side braid
This is another one for the simple girls. We look to Jennifer again for this braided hair inspiration. It’s simple looking from the front but when you turn more to the side you see the detail and get a whole new perspective of the hairstyle. She also shows different ways to jazz it up for a more unique look. Press play to learn just how to pull it off.
